OK now...The problem:
Car jsut went in for paint yesterday. I was prepared to pay the $3500 initial fee to have the car painted from white to Sapphire Blue. But ther ewere some major snags: The previous owner filled that indented line that runs all the way around the bottom of the car with bondo, got rid of all the gravel guard stuff on the bottom to make it smooth, plus the doors arent in great condition. Also, under the hood was spray painted black without covering up any of the hoses or wires, etc. There are some other things but basicly the chassis needs alot more work than I once thought...As a result, they are hesitant to do the work for anything less than $5500, which would include getting rid of the license plate bracket on the new JDM fascia. They said for $5500 that it will be done right and Ill be very happy with the result, but....Thats *alot* of money to spend, considering how much Ive already dumped in over the last couple years!

Id be interested to hear some advice. Is the number reasonable, should I not be bitching? Should I try to find good condition cheap doors, fenders, and quarterpanels? Should I try to get rid of this chassis and find another (I only paid $600 for it)? Ive even considered selling everything Z-related that I own and cutting my losses; this is very frustrating...

I was really upbeat yesterday with the turbos arriving in the mail, and now Im really in the gutter about having yet another problem in the development of a decent Z car...=\
Id like to hear from people.

Thanks for reading
Josh
